Jennifer Farrell is responsible for modern and contemporary prints, illustrated books, and artists' books. She joined the Met in 2014 after holding curatorial positions at the Yale University Art Gallery, the University of Virginia, and the Whitney Museum of American Art Independent Study Program. At the Met, she has curated World War I and the Visual Arts (2017) and co-curated Workshop and Legacy: Stanley William Hayter, Krishna Reddy, Zarina Hashmi (2016). Her publications include Get There and Decide Promptly: The Richard Brown Baker Collection of Postwar Art (2012), which received The Frick Collection's 2013 Book Prize. She earned a BA from Smith College and a PhD from the Graduate Center, CUNY.

EXHIBITION
PAPER 2019 exhibition features pieces by artists working in paper broadly considered. Submissions may include prints, drawings, photographs, artists’ books, handmade paper as well as three-dimensional works made with paper. The aim of the exhibition is to highlight the vitality, diversity, sense of experimentation and skillful execution and the many ways in which contemporary artists approach this material.

Best in Show, awards an artist a solo exhibition at Silvermine Arts Center with a $1,000 stipend for show related expenses. The Juror has additional awards to give at their discretion.

RESTRICTIONS
Accepted Artwork – No artwork substitutions are allowed. No accepted entry may be withdrawn prior to the
close of the exhibition.
Wall-hung Works – May not exceed 96” in height or width, including frames. All work must be ready for hanging. Shipped work requiring glazing must use Plexiglas. Paid return shipping labels must be included.
Sculptures – Should not exceed 8’h x 4’w x 4’d including base.
Installations – Installations may not stipulate altering the character of the gallery wall or floor. Artists with special installation requirements should be available to assist in the installation of their work.
Handling Fee – Artists who ship their work must pay a $25.00 fee prior to their artwork being hung. This fee
covers the expense of uncrating, storage of crates, re-crating and contacting shipper for return. Silvermine Galleries will waive the uncrating fee for artists who use a commercially manufactured artist's/strong box such as a StrongBox™ by Airfloat Systems, or similar brand, like Masterpak or Uline, or a FedEx Premium Art Box (not a FedEx Large Frame Box). Proper packaging is imperative to protect your work. Improper packaging may result in damaged, returned or unopened shipments. Strong boxes will be returned to the artists at the conclusion of the show at the artist's expense.
