While I treasure and honor all stages of female growth, my focus here is to explore how we age. Our minds, our posture, the shapes of our bodies, and the ability to move freely are all affected by the passage of time. Each body and face bears its own unique pattern of aging. Whether recorded on skin or on paper, lines, creases, and wrinkles are marks that form patterns through which we can embrace imperfection, celebrate maturity, and acknowledge growth. By expanding, exploring, and considering, I hope to stretch the traditional definition of beauty.   - Karen Kalkstein

The organic forms of roots and trees, shrubs and flowers, water and weather provide inspiration. Water is the elemental aspect/concept of my work. Water provides nourishment through roots, and the intensity of roots energy is powerful. I aim to express this power through my paintings.   -Kiyoshi Otsuka

As children, most of us have delved with abandon into the enchanting games of illusion, fortune-telling, and supernatural powers. With this in mind, we will be exploring the themes of fantasy, wonder, magic, games and invention.  On the surface, each piece is enchanting in its own fantasy, but also has a complexity beyond the obvious.   - Nina Bentley, Kim Hanna,
Jane Lubin
